6 Things You Can Do To Market Your Business Online … Successfully
1. Get a website.
Every business needs a website, it's your shop front, your representation of who you are and what services/products you offer. A website is for anyone who would like to double check who you are, or find your contact details quickly, or for new potential clients, who have never heard of you before, to see if you could be the best business to help them.
Your website has to totally reflect your business personality, trustworthiness, your brand and your work ethics.
2. Website SEO.
Don't waste your time and money building a quick website and think "that'll do"... IT WON'T!
You MUST build a website with SEO in mind, both on page and off page. You want to be ranking highly on Google, to be showing up when people, who have never heard of you before, search for your services/products. Without SEO, even a beautiful website is useless and adding SEO after a website is built, will end up costing more than implementing it in the first place!
3. Google My Business
Google My Business is a FREE marketing tool that helps you show up on Google searches and Maps too! So if someone was looking for a service close by, like a plumber, the search will show in order of distance.
It is also is a great place for your customers to leave reviews, which can also help your website SEO organically! 😃
4. Invest in Google Ads.
Google Ads not only brings you a return of investment, but it also helps your website SEO organically too. You should always earn more than you put in for Google Ads, whether it's to sell your service, or your products.
It is such a brilliant marketing tool. You decide which locations you want to target, which times of the day you want to show up, and it's not as expensive as you may think, you set the budget, you pay Google directly (when working with us) and together we work to bring people to your website and in turn bring you a profit 😀 we are big fans of this money making tool!
5. Social Media Advertising.
SM ads, such as Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, Pinterest are all brilliant ways of attracting new clients... if done right! If not done right, you can lose money fast, reach the wrong clientele and start losing your organic post reach, so it's always advisable to work with an agency when it comes to social media advertising and make it a long term plan.
Like Google Ads, you decide on a budget and tailor the ads to reach your targeted audience. You can even niche it to ages, gender and postcode! It's great for getting a new following and great for getting in front of the right audience. The difference between SM ads and Google Ads is that with Google Ads, clients are searching for you, where SM ads, you are searching for them.
6. Link building
Please, whatever you do, DO NOT pay for link building! Please don't submit your website to any platform that promises you thousands of links!! It's a waste of your time and this process tends to cause much more damage than good!
If you go down this route, your website will end up with completely irrelevant links. You do not want a chemist linking to your website if you are a plumber! You do not want a Viagra service, linking to your pet grooming website!!
Google will penalise your website if you have irrelevant links to or from your website. If Google penalises your website for being irrelevant to the searcher, down the rankings you go!! 😭
What you can do though is this, when you are posting a business post on Facebook, LinkedIn etc add a link to your website, add your website link to your Instagram bio, go on forums that relate to your business, add a business relevant comment and a link to your website.
Whenever you chat online, if it's relevant to your business, then add a link to your website. Google will love it and move you up!
